What Is Morse Code Translator?
A free online Morse code translator. Convert text to Morse code and vice versa. Supports A-Z, 0-9, and common punctuation. Real-time conversion with copy and download options.
Morse code is a method of encoding text characters as sequences of dots (.) and dashes (-). Invented in the 1830s for telegraph communication, it remains in use today in amateur radio, aviation, and as a backup communication system. Morse Code Translator provides bidirectional conversion between English text and Morse code.
In Text to Morse mode, each letter is converted to its Morse code equivalent. Letters within a word are separated by a single space. Words are separated by a forward slash (/). For example, "HELLO WORLD" becomes ".... . .-.. .-.. --- / .-- --- .-. .-.. -..". The tool supports A-Z (case-insensitive), numbers 0-9, and common punctuation including periods, commas, question marks, and exclamation points.
In Morse to Text mode, enter Morse code (with dots, dashes, and spaces between characters) and the tool converts it back to readable text. The Morse input can use either dots (.) or dashes (-) for the signal characters. Multiple spaces or slashes between words are accepted.
The real-time conversion makes this tool useful for both learning and practical use. Someone studying Morse code can type text and see the Morse equivalent to practice sending. An amateur radio operator can decode a received Morse transmission by typing it in the Morse input. The copy and download functions make it easy to save or share the translated output.
