What is AVIF and why use it?
AVIF is a next-generation image format based on AV1 video codec. It offers about 50% smaller file sizes than JPEG at the same quality. It is supported in Chrome 85+, Firefox 93+, and Edge 85+.

Does JPG support transparency?
No, JPG does not support transparency. If your source image has transparent areas (PNG, GIF, WebP, or SVG), the converter will fill them with the background color you choose. White is the default.
