Every PDF contains metadata — hidden information about the document that includes the title, author, subject, keywords, producer application, and creator tool. This metadata is useful for organizing document libraries, improving searchability, and providing context. But it can also expose information you may not want to share, such as the author's name or the software used to create the document.

PDF Metadata Editor lets you view all metadata fields in any PDF and edit the ones that are writable: title, author, subject, and keywords. The producer and creator fields are read-only as they are set by the software that generated the PDF. You can update individual fields, or click "Clear All" to reset all editable fields to empty values.

The tool displays the current metadata alongside the file information (page count and file size). Edit any field by typing a new value. A preview section shows the metadata as it will appear after saving, so you can verify your changes before applying them.

All processing is local using PDF-Lib. Your PDF never leaves your browser. This is important when editing metadata on confidential documents where you do not want the file transmitted to a server. After saving, download the updated PDF with your metadata changes applied.
